On September 27, 1862, the Civil War made its way to Augusta, Kentucky, where a fierce battle left the city in ruins. The battle took the lives of more than 30 soldiers, and in its wake, left a historical legacy that our city commemorates every September. We are proud of our heritage and are pleased to present you the story of the Battle of Augusta with a new interactive web app. We sincerely hope that as you take the walking tour, you gain new knowledge about the battle, see a new perspective on the Civil War, and embrace our city's rich historical significance.
